Call for unity to protect Khulna Newsprint Mills

KHULNA, Oct 15 (BDNEWS): People from all walks of life have been urged to come forward to save the properties of Khulna Newsprint Mills (KNM).
Speakers at an open discussion meeting organised by the Dainik Purbanchal titled 'a little sincerity can reopen the Khulna Newsprint Mills' at the dialogue centre of the daily made the appeal today.
They observed that closure of KNM made at least 3,000 employees of the factory jobless and caused damage to the properties of the mills worth millions of taka.
Khulna Newsprint Employees Union President Nizam-ur-Rahman Lalu presented a paper at the discussion.
The discussion meeting was addressed, among others, by Panchanan Biswas MP, Golam Parwar MP, BNP leader Gazi Shahidullah, Awami League leader Mizanur Rahman Mizan and Jatiya Party city president Sheikh Abul Hossain with Purbanchal Editor Liakat Ali in the chair.
