10/16/2005

BENONI, South Africa, Oct 15 (Reuters): New Zealand recovered from a poor start to beat South Africa A by 19 runs on the Duckworth/Lewis method in their limited-overs warm-up match in Benoni Friday.
Craig McMillan's run-a-ball 105 lifted the Kiwis from 42 for four to 273 for nine. James Marshall scored 64 in a 161-run fifth-wicket partnership with McMillan, while Andre Adams provided some late impetus with an 18-ball 32.
Tyron Henderson swung the ball and obtained steep bounce to take five for 38 and keep the New Zealand top-order under severe pressure.
The Kiwis' new-ball pair of Shane Bond and Kyle Mills gained even more assistance under the floodlights and limited South Africa A to just 22 runs in the first 13 overs.
