Proshika donation for ‘monga’-hit people

Proshika, a non-government organization (NGO), Monday donated Tk 0.35 million (3,50,000) for the monga-prone (seasonal famine) people of greater Rangpur districts.
This donation has been channeled from the "Special Assistance Fund" which was set-up with 10 per cent contribution of the annual festival allowance of all workers of Proshika.
The donation approval meeting at Proshika Bhaban in the city was chaired by its president Quazi Faruq Ahmed who later directed the persons concerned to take necessary steps to distribute the fund among the hardcore poor.
This money will be distributed among 1,400 families under eight Development Areas of Proshika in the northern region. Each family will receive 10 kgs of rice, 5 kgs of potato, one kg pulse, 0.5 kg sugar and one kg salt, he said.
The area-wise break-up of donation is Nilphamari Tk 75,000, Domar Tk 37,500, Sundarganj Tk 31,250, Kawnia Tk 31,250, Gaibandha Tk 25,000, Patgram Tk 25,000, Aditmari Tk 25,000, Sayedpur Tk 37,500 and Ulipur Tk 62,500.
