Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia returns home today (Monday) concluding her weeklong visit to Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah, reports UNB.
Khaleda Zia was scheduled to leave Makkah for Jeddah after Zohr prayers Sunday to fly for Dhaka from the Saudi port city Monday dawn.
On Saturday, Begum Zia observed holy Lailatul Qadr in Makkah and spent the day in prayers. The Prime Minister took part in Kiamul Lail prayer (prayer of dead of night) along with a huge number of Muslim devotees at the holy Kaaba Sharif.
After the prayer the Prime Minister took part in a special Munazat on the occasion of Lailatul Qadr.
The Prime Minister prayed for the continuous progress and prosperity of Bangladesh, its people and the Muslim Ummah.
Khaleda Zia left Dhaka on October 24 for Saudi Arabia and arrived in Madinah on the first stop. During her stay in Madinah from October 24 to 27, the Prime Minister offered Fateha at the holy Rawja Mubarrak of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SM), prayed in congregation at Masjid-e-Nabobi and took Iftar with thousands of Muslim devotees at the holy mosque.
The Prime Minister also exchanged pleasantries with Bangladeshi expatriates on her way to Masjid-e-Nabobi each prayer time.
