BFF in crisis to complete NFL

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has been facing a severe crisis in running the National Football League (NFL) which was halted at the second round following refusal of Bangladesh Television (BTV) to telecast the matches from the second round on-ward, reports BDNEWS.
BFF was committed with the sponsors Nitol-Tata to arrange live transmission of at least 20 matches.
BTV has regretted that the government-owned television would be unable to transmit the live telecast of the matches outside Dhaka - Rangpur, Khulna, Chandpur and Cox'sbazar.
The BFF officials tried to convince the BTV officials but failed. They finally tried to meet information minister M Shamsul Islam Tuesday to capitalise his influence on the issue but failed again.
The second round of the league is scheduled to begin on November 16 at the four different venues of the country. The venues are Khulna, Rangpur, Chandpur and Cox'sbazar.
BFF assistant general secretary and the league committee secretary Monjoor Hossain Malu told the news agency, "We wanted to meet the information minister Tuesday. We will try today (Wednesday) again."
According to the current schedule, the final match of the national league will be held on January 05 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city while the Prime Ministers (PM) Cup is scheduled to begin on January 21 at the same venue.
The date of PM Cup is not deferrable, because it is an international tournament.
The draw of the second round will be held tomorrow (Thursday).
A total of ten teams are taking part in the second round. Among them six teams qualified from the six divisions.
Premier division champions Brothers Union, federation cup champions Muktijddha Krira Sangsad and Mohammedan Sporting Club and Abahani Ltd got the first round bye.
