Price indices lower on selling pressure

Price indices on both the bourses plummeted Sunday because of selling pressure.
The price indices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) dropped, as the losing issues outplayed the gaining ones. The trade turnover, in terms of both volume and value, also decreased on the day.
The DSE All Share Price Index closed at 1262.26 points, registering 22.76 points or 1.77 per cent decline from 1285.02 points of Thursday, the previous trading day.
The DSE General Index slipped by 29.33 points or 1.73 per cent to close at 1666.83 points from 1696.16 points of the previous day.
The DSE-20 Index fell by 31.02 points or 1.88 per cent to close at 1613.73 points from 1646.75 points.
The CSE All Share Price Index dropped by 1.40 per cent to finish at 3324.64 points from 3382.85 points of Thursday, the previous trading day.
The CSE-30 Index moved down by 1.79 per cent to close at 3107.48 points from 3165.87 points.
A total of 1.09 million shares and debentures worth Tk 60.996 million changed hands on the day against the previous day's 1.30 million shares and debentures valued at Tk 58.09 million of the previous day.
A total of 79 issues were traded on the day. Of them, ten gained, 60 lost grounds and seven remained unchanged.
