Abahani, Muktijoddha share points

COX'SBAZAR, Dec 9 (BDNEWS): Abahani Ltd and Muktijoddha KC shared the points as they played to a goalless draw in the last match in the Nitol-Tata National Football League at the local stadium Friday.
Both football giants of the country disappointed a huge crowd of the coastal tourism town.
The organisers have to close all the gates within very few minutes immediately after beginning the match.
With this tie Abahani remained on top of the points table of the Group-B earning seven points playing three matches.
Muktijoddha KC remained in the second position with five points in the equal number of matches.
Other giants of the group Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club earned four points.
In the tied match, Abahani mostly concentrated in the mid-field and created a number of scoring opportunities, but the forwards failed to capitalise those.
Abahani's Cameroonian player Ndem A Kiyeck played very well in the mid-field, and his superb foot-works earned him the best player award.
Their setback was the absence of forward Iqbal, who remained in the sideline due to his injuries.
Abahani forward Monowar missed the best chance in the 79th minute when a Muktijoddha defender snatch the ball from Monowar, who was in front of an open post with the ball.
Abahani manager Satyajit Das Rupu, in the post match briefing, said, "If we could convert the chances that we could win the match by at least 3-0 margin."
Muktijoddha couldn't make any good chances in the match.
Kacharipar SC, Jamalpur face Khulna Town Club in the next match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
Rest of the matches in the second round, super six round, semifinals and the final will be held in the same venue.
