RAJSHAHI, Jan-17: All the hotels and restaurants of Naogaon town remained closed in protest against manhandling of a leader of hotel workers by an owner of a hotel of the town.
As a result, hundreds of visitors and boarders of residential hotels of the town are facing a great trouble.
Last Thursday, leader of Hotel Restaurant Labourers Union Moksed Ali was beaten by Nurul Islam, owner of Naogaon Mistanno Bhander. Protesting the incident, all the hotel-restaurant labourers and waiters started a wildcat work stoppage from the same day. Sweetmeat workers of some 100 hotels of the town also joined the strikers and the town remained sweetmeatless for the last five days.
