BSTI penalises four dishonest business establishments
1/19/2006

RAJSHAHI, Jan 18 (BSS): A mobile court of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) fined 4 dishonest business establishments an amount of Tk 15,000 in different markets of the city Tuesday.
BSTI sources said the mobile court led by Metropolitan Magistrate Yousuf Ali conducted raids on Rajpara, BSCIC, Gonokpara and Shaheb Bazar markets as a part of the drive against adulterated food and cheating of consumers in weight and measurement.
During the daylong drive, the mobile court found four business establishments guilty of violating BSTI's existing rules and regulations and lodged four cases against them.
All the cases were disposed off with realisation of Tk 15,000 as fines.
