1/6/2005

BOGRA, Jan 5: Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) has made adequate stock of urea fertiliser to meet the growing demand in the current Rabi season in the northern districts of the country. Sources at BCIC Regional Office in Bogra, told the news agency Wednesday that the corporation had made a stock of over 0.15 million tonnes of urea fertilisers so far in its 14 buffer warehouses in the northern districts. The urea, which is now stocked, will meet the demand in the region until February 15, they said. Brushing aside the possibility of an imminent fertiliser crisis, BCIC Regional Manager Shariful Islam said that there were adequate supply of urea and other fertilisers to meet the current demand. — BSS
