Discussion on implementation of UNDP-funded projects

          The newly appointed Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Renata Lok Dessallion, called on Local Government Rural Development(LGRD) and Cooperatives Minister Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan at his secretariat office in the city Sunday, reports BSS.
During the meeting, they discussed matters relating to mutual interest as well as implementation of the UNDP funded projects, including, Sirajganj Local Government Fund Project, being implemented under the Local Government Department(LGD), an official handout said.
They exchanged views on various steps undertaken by the present government to strengthen local government institutions and their activities.
They also discussed about the progress of implementation of sanitation programme in Bangladesh. The minister assured Renata Lok Dessallion of extending all sorts of cooperation during her tenure in Bangladesh.
Assistant Resident Representative of UNDP Karen Dunn and senior programme Manager Door Afsana H Chowdhury were also present during the meeting.
