Six Taliban killed in land mine explosion
12/26/2005

KANDAHAR, DEC 25 (AP): A land mine exploded on a highway in southern Afghanistan killing four suspected Taliban insurgents as they tried to plant the explosive, a government official said Sunday.
The explosion happened late Saturday in Maywand, a district west of the provincial capital of Kandahar, Maywand's chief government administrator Mohammed Nabi Khan said.
He said the remains of the victims were badly mutilated and that body parts, torn pieces of clothes, turbans and smashed weapons littered the road.
