Price indices slide at both bourses

          The price indices on the country's two bourses closed lower Monday in moderate trading.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) All Share Price Index closed at 1264.53 points, registering 8.81 points or 0.69 per cent fall from 1273.34 points of the previous trading day.
The DSE General Index decreased by 11.10 points or 0.84 per cent to close at 1659.11 points from 1670.99 points of the previous trading day.
The DSE-20 Index dropped by 7.07 points or 0.44 per cent to close at 1593.06 points from 1600.13 points.
About 1.39 million shares and debentures worth Tk 250.37 mil-lion changed hands on the day against 1.37 million shares and deben-tures valued at Tk 203.24 million of the previous trading day.
A total of 150 issues were traded on the day including 36 gainers, 97 losers and 17 remain-ing un-changed on the day, as estimated on the basis of closing prices.
The total market capitalisation stood at Tk 226.80 billion from Tk 228.29 billion.
Pubali Bank was the top trade turnover leader, in terms of value, on the day with its 6,170 shares valued at Tk 12.77 million being traded. The price of the issue went down by 0.53 per cent to close at Tk 1,963.75. Its price varied between Tk 1999.00 and Tk 1,958.25 on the day.
Summit Power was a significant performer on the day. Its 22,650 shares valued at Tk 9.64 million changed hands. The price of the issue fell by 1.79 per cent to close at Tk 423.25. Its price fluctuated between Tk 431.50 and Tk 421.25 on the day.
Aims First Mutual Fund was the top trade turnover leader, in terms of volume, on the day. Its 207,500 shares worth Tk 243,100.00 were traded. The price of the issue slipped by 0.84 per cent to end at Tk 1.18 on the day.
Bengal Biscuit was the top gainer on the day, as its price rose by 9.61 per cent to close at Tk 28.50. Its 260 shares valued at Tk 7,400.00 changed hands on the day.
Aramit Cement was the top losing issue. The price of the issue decreased by 9.23 per cent to close at Tk 41.75. Its 250 shares valued at Tk 10,500.00 changed hands on the day.
The CSE All Share Price Index dropped by 0.78 per cent to finish at 3350.97 points from 3377.18 points of Thursday, the previous trading day.
The CSE-30 Index fell by 0.64 per cent to close at 3095.36 points from 3115.39 points.
A total of 0.57 million shares and debentures worth Tk 27.16 million changed hands on the day against the previous day's 0.60 million shares and debentures valued at Tk 39.27 million of the previous day.
A total of 62 issues were traded on the day. Of them, 14 gained, 45 lost grounds and three remained unchanged.
Beximco Pharma was the top trade turnover leader, in terms of value, on the day. Its price went down by 1.17 per cent to close at Tk 59.00 from Tk 59.70. Some 48,819 of its shares valued at Tk 2.89 million were transacted on the day.
German-Bangla Food was the top gaining issue on the day. The price of the issue increased by 22.22 per cent to close at Tk 1.10 from Tk 0.90. Its 10,000 shares worth Tk 52,550.00 changed hands on the day.
Rupali Bank was a significant trade turnover leader, in terms of value, with its 4,280 shares valued at Tk 2.44 million being transacted on the day. The price of the issue decreased by 1.65 per cent to close at Tk 565.25 from Tk 574.75.
Bengal Biscuits was the top losing issue on the day. Its 200 shares worth Tk 5,200.00 changed hands on the day. The price of the issue dropped by 25.17 per cent to close at Tk 26.00 from Tk 34.75.
