Thailand to increase fruit exports to US
2/16/2006

BANGKOK, Feb 15 (VNA): The US government has agreed to expand import quotas of fresh Thai fruits but warned Thai exporters that they must strictly follow its agricultural and health safety regulations to assure their shipments are pest- free, Rachane Potjanasunthorn, Director General of the Department of Foreign Trade, has said.
Officials from the US Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) signed an agreement earlier this month to import Thai mangoes, mongosteens, pineapples, rambutans, lychees and longans, Thai News Agency reported.
