South Asian archery begins tomorrow

          Banglalink South Asian Archery Championship, organised by the Bangladesh Archery Association (BAA) with the sponsorship of mobile phone operator Banglalink, begins at the BSKP in Savar Wednesday, reports BDNEWS.
Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan will inaugurate the four-day international meet as the chief guest.
Archers from five South Asian countries India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and hosts Bangladesh will take part in the first ever meet, said BAA General Secretary Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapol said Monday at a news conference.
Chapol said Channel I will telecast live the inaugural programme from BKSP in Savar.
Some 40 players -- eights from five nations each-- will take part in the four events - Re-curve bow, FITA Round, Olympic and Team events.
Sponsors Banglalink will provide Tk 1.6 million (16 lakh) - 50 per cent of the estimated budget of Tk 3.2 million (32 lakh) and rest of the money will be procured from the National Sports Council and other sources.
Bangladesh Squad:
Men's team - Noor-E-Alam, Sanwar Hossain, Rubel Hossain and Syed Tanvir Raihan.
Women' team- Nasrin Khanom Happy, Omi Chakma, Rina Chakma and Khadiza Mustari Maheen.
Coach- Nishit Das (India).
