Poem
Her Promise
Abul Ashraf Noor
3/19/2006

At first her promise was a part
Of my future
But now it makes a problem part
Of my life
Marking suffering everywhere
I am undone.
Two ways to discard her promise
Forget it forever
Or
I seek something that inspires me
From her promise
Containing the elements of love
In a garden of flowers
In which God smiles.
What I look for in her promise
is one's genuineness
To know the inner meaning
Of my beloved's promise in an old age
Indicating the truth that
Her promise is only the promise
For the sake of promise in real life
Giving me no touch of mutual trust
Between the two souls.
