Emphasis on using appropriate language in back-to-back L/Cs for entering foreign markets
FE Report
8/18/2006

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Director KMH Shahidul Haque laid emphasis on using appropriate language in back-to-back letters of credit (L/Cs) for entering into foreign markets.
He was speaking at the certificate awarding ceremony of the training course on 'General Export Marketing Management', organised by the DCCI Business Institute (DBI) on the institute's premises in the city recently.
He said that he had to visit different companies several times to learn the export marketing procedures when he started his business.
He said China is exporting to Bangladesh the products that are also available locally. "Therefore, we need to know the effective techniques for export marketing to draw the attention of buyers," he added.
Mentioning the stiff competition in the global market, he said, "We have to know domestic and international rules, procedures, management and administration of imports and exports".
He further said skilled, efficient, knowledgeable and trained managers are required for achieving success in international trade.
He urged the participants to use the ideas and knowledge gained through the training course and disseminate the same among their colleagues with a view to enhancing skills of all concerned.
Expressing the opinion that the course was very useful, participants urged the authorities concerned to organise more such courses in future.
DBI Acting Executive Director Md Hossain Ali thanked the participants for their participation and active role in the training programme.
Laying emphasis on the need for export diversification of the country's products, he responded to the participants' queries and recommendations and said the DBI will consider their suggestions in organising future training courses.
Deputy Secretary (Training) and course co-ordinator Jawadur Rahman Chowdhury moderated the certificate awarding ceremony.
A total of 20 participants from reputed business organisations attended the training course conducted by experienced resource persons.
