10 teams take part in inter-varsity business debate competition

          The Department of Management Studies under University of Dhaka (DU) became champion in "Inter University Business Debate Competition - 2006", while Department of Finance of the same university was the runner-up.
Subarna Barua of the runner-up and Rasneen Tayeb of Stamford University won the prize of the best speakers of the tournament for all round performances.
Business Debate Club of School of Business Administration (SBA) under the People's University of Bangladesh (PUB) and The Bangladesh Today (BT) jointly organised the competition from August 5-17.
Ten teams of eight universities participated in the competition.
The closing ceremony of the debate competition, presided over by PUB Vice Chancellor (Designate) Md Aslam Bhuiyan, was held on August 17. Senior journalist Zaglul Ahmed Chowdhury was the chief guest of the occasion and BT Managing Editor Zulfia Asaf was the special guest.
Among others, PUB SBA Chairman Muhammad Mahboob Ali and The Daily Star Senior Assistant Editor Shahnoor Wahid also spoke in this occasion.
