DSE indices close mixed, CSE’s post gain

          The price indices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed mixed, while those on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) marked gains Sunday in moderate trading.
The DSE All Share Price Index closed at 1267.89 points, registering 1.60 points or 0.12 per cent fall from 1269.49 points of Thursday, the previous trading day.
The DSE General Index dropped by 2.01 points or 0.12 per cent to close at 1660.67 points from 1662.68 points of the previous day.
The DSE-20 Index slipped by 0.50 points or 0.03 per cent to close at 1574.31 points from 1574.81 points.
About 1.74 million shares and debentures worth Tk 103.27 million changed hands on the day against 1.72 million shares and debentures valued at Tk 135.92 million of the previous trading day.
A total of 172 issues were traded on the day including 85 gainers, 65 losers and 22 remaining unchanged on the day, as estimated on the basis of closing prices.
The total market capitalisation stood at Tk 230.93 billion from Tk 231.20 billion.
Summit Power was the top trade turnover leader, in terms of value, on the day with its 17,550 shares valued at Tk 7.43 million being traded. The price of the issue went down by 0.35 per cent to close at Tk 423.50. Its price varied between Tk 426.00 and Tk 422.00 on the day.
BD Online was the significant performer on the day. Its 102,000 shares valued at Tk 6.47 million changed hands. The price of the issue gained by 1.59 per cent to close at Tk 63.80. Its price fluctuated between Tk 64.30 and Tk 62.50 on the day.
The price indices on the CSE, on the other hand, posted gains on the day. The trade turnover, in terms of both volume and value, however, moved down.
The CSE All Share Price Index rose by 0.09 per cent to finish at 3331.35 points from 3328.48 points of Thursday.
The CSE-30 Index went up by 0.25 per cent to close at 3119.93 points from 3112.25 points.
A total of 0.45 million shares and debentures worth Tk 19.94 million changed hands on the day against the previous day's 0.72 million shares and debentures valued at Tk 30.58 million of the previous day.
