Difference of views 'can be resolved thru' discussion in Parliament'
10/13/2005

A delegation of the Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS) of UK Wednesday paid a courtesy call on President Iajuddin Ahmed at the Bangabhaban, reports UNB.
Welcoming the delegation, the President said Bangladesh always favoured peaceful resolution of disputes among different countries through the United Nations (UN).
He expressed the hope that the upcoming SAARC Summit in Dhaka, scheduled for November 12-13, would strengthen mutual cooperation, overcoming the existing problems, among the South Asian countries particularly India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
President Iajuddin told the delegation that there was democracy and press freedom in Bangladesh. Difference of views and opinions between various political parties could also be resolved through discussion in Parliament, he said.
In the meeting, the RCDS delegation explained their activities and syllabus, and lauded the successes achieved by Bangladesh in different fields.
The President invited the delegation to visit Bangladesh every year and urged them to go to different places to see "more successes" that Bangladesh had achieved.

The delegation members included British High Commissioner in Dhaka Anwar Choudhury, Colonel N Bojic of Croatian Ministry of Defence, BT Burton of the UK Ministry of Defence, Colonel SF Deakin of British Army, Colonel M Demier of French Army, Brigadier General P Gerometta of Italian Army.
