Bangladesh signs convention on APSCO to build space tech ties
11/1/2005

Bangladesh entered into the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organisation (APSCO) devoted to building a close cooperation in the field of space technology among countries of the region, reports UNB.
The objective of the APSCO is to enhance cooperation among the Asia-Pacific countries in space technology, disaster management, communications and information networking, environment monitoring, exploring natural resources and increasing national capability.
The country joined the club - which presently groups China, Indonesia, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan, Peru and Thailand - through signing up the Convention on Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organisation (APSCO).
On behalf of Bangladesh government, country's ambassador to China Ashfaqur Rahman inked the convention at a signing ceremony at the Great Hall of People in Beijing Friday, an official announcement said in Dhaka Monday.
