EC completes preparation for fresh voter list

          The Election Commission (EC) has completed all preparatory works for a fresh voter list to be launched on January 1, eyeing on the Ninth Jatiya Sangsad elections, reports BDNEWS.
The commission said Thursday all logistics like the voter enrolment forms, manuals and other materials had been sent to the 83 registration officers across the country.
A number of 2,16,722 data collectors and 55,684 supervisors are appointed to work under 6270 assistant registration officers for preparing a new voter list. Meanwhile, all the officials had been trained.
The data collectors are scheduled to visit door-to-door from January 1 and the supervisors will start scrutinising the collected data from January 8. The assistant registration officers will examine at least 10 per cent of the data on the spot within January 21 to 31.
