Four robbers die in mob-beating
2/20/2005

RAJSHAHI, Feb 19: Four suspected robbers were beaten to death in a mob-thrashing following an abortive bus dacoity bid at Tarapur in Puthia Upazila Friday night. The police said 10 passengers of the bus were injured in the attack launched by the highway robbers. The bandits took control of a Rajshahi-bound bus in Jhalmalia area and swooped on the passengers. They looted valuables and cash from the passengers during the holdup. The superviser of the bus managed to escape and informed the local people about the gang attack. On hearing this, the locals rushed to the place, barricaded the bus at the Tarapur crossing and caught the robbers red-handed. They beat the alleged gangsters indiscriminately, leaving four robbers spot dead. — UNB
