Seven Nigerian soldiers killed in firefight

          LAGOS, March 9 (Xinhua): Nigerian militants holding three foreign oil workers said on Wednesday night they killed at least seven soldiers while exchanging fire with the military in the oil- rich Niger Delta.
They said in an email statement to Xinhua that the firefight occurred at about 17:15 (1615 GMT) and lasted about 45 minutes in the vicinity of Okerenkoko community, involving their patrols on the Escravos River and four patrol boats carrying about 32 soldiers, which took off from a Shell terminal in Forcados.
