Skilled manpower for proposed TATA plant to be 'brought from India'

          TATA Group has expressed the willingness to bring skilled labour from India and employ other employees locally for its proposed plant in Bangladesh.
Resident Director of TATA Group M Manzer Hussain said this while replying to a question from FBCCI President Mir Nasir Hossain in the city Tuesday, according to a press release.
TATA Steel Deputy Managing Director T Mukherjee made a presentation on TATA's investment proposal at the meeting held between the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and the representatives of TATA Group.
In his presentation, Mukherjee highlighted the role of TATA's investment in the field of steel.
On the other hand, Manzer Hussain made a verbal presentation on the overall package of TATA's investment in Bangladesh.
TATA's investment is estimated to be about US$3.0 billion in steel, fertiliser and power plants.
FBCCI President Mir Nasir Hossain chaired the meeting and raised a number of issues like specific products to be made by TATA Steel, resettlement plan in the coal mining areas, assurance of gas supply, employment generation, tax holiday and gas price.
