          The price indices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) posted gains Saturday although the gaining issues were surpassed the losing ones.
The trade turnover, in terms of volume, decreased but in terms of value, it rose on the day.
The DSE General Index gained by 20.13 points or 1.07 per cent to close at 1901.82 points from 1881.69 points of Thursday, the previous trading day.
The DSE-20 Index moved up by 1.05 points or 0.05 per cent to end at 2095.08 points from 2094.92 points of previous day.
About 3.51 million shares and debentures worth Tk 585.85 mil-lion changed hands on the day against 4.21 million shares and deben-tures valued Tk 405.52 million of the previous trading day.
A number of 177 issues were traded on the day including 71 gainers, 83 losers and 23 remain-ing un-changed on the day, as estimated on the basis of closing prices.
The total market capitalisation stood at Tk 227.41 billion from Tk 225.68 billion.
Southeast Bank was the top trade turn-over leader, in terms of value, on the day. Its 110,200 shares valued at Tk 85.31 million changed hands. The price of the issue gained by 6.65 per cent to close at Tk 785.50.
Keya Cosmetics was a major trade turnover leader, in terms of volume, on the day. Its 303,000 shares worth Tk 11.84 million were traded. The price of the issue rose by 2.65 per cent to close at Tk 36.70 on the day.
Agrani Insurance was the top gainer on the day as its price moved up by 55.25 per cent to end at Tk 155.25. Its 86,500 shares valued at Tk 14.08 million changed hands.
Padma Oil was the top losing issue on the day. Its price decreased by 6.34 per cent to close at Tk 325.00. Its 1,700 shares worth Tk 552,500.00 changed hands.
Fine Foods was a major gaining issue on the day with its 84,500 shares valued at Tk 508,900.00 being transacted. The price of the issue rose by 15.38 per cent to close at Tk 6.00 on the day.
NCC Bank was a major performer on the day with its 104,950 shares valued at Tk 61.40 million being traded. The price of the issue increased by 7.19 per cent to close at Tk 599.50.
