The government is going to set up a 500-bed hospital under Health, Nutrition and Population Sector Programme (HNPSP) at the city's Kurmitola area to provide healthcare facilities to the increasing number of patients. The hospital will provide treatment to the common people and be used by the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) as a teaching hospital. — UNB
