Shippers' Council holds 23rd AGM

          The twenty-third annual general meeting (AGM) of the Shippers' Council of Bangladesh (SCB) was held in the city Thursday with its Chairman Farhad Ahamed Akanda in the chair. About 40 members and all other office-bearers were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Farhad gave a brief account of the activities of the Council in 2004 including the meetings with the Ministry of' Shipping, BSC and HRC Shipping Ltd for making ships available at Mongla Port.
In the meeting, the minutes of the 22nd annual general meeting of the council held in January last year were confirmed and the Annual Report of the Council for the period of January to December, 2004 and the Audited Accounts of the Council for the fiscal year 2003-2004 were passed.
The chartered accountancy firm B Alam & Co was appointed auditor of the council for the financial year 2004-2005.
