PM urges opposition to sit across the table for decision
5/5/2006

Prime Minister Khaleda Zia made a fresh overtures for resolving the standoff over caretaker government reforms through urging the opposition to sit across the table candidly for a decision, reports UNB
"We want discussion; the path of discussion is still not closed; it remains open. All problems can be solved through discussion, not in street," she said.
While addressing a big public meeting at Gora Shahid Mazar in city's Lalbagh area Thursday afternoon, the PM referred to her earlier proposal for dialogue and said after exchanging some letters they are now reluctant to move forward to that direction.
Khaleda Zia, also the chairperson of the ruling BNP, urged the people to vote for the BNP and the 4-party alliance candidates in the next elections to maintain the trend of democracy and development.
Listing various development works carried out by her coalition government in last four and a half years she said continuity of government is an imperative for maintaining the development process.
"Otherwise", she cautioned, "development activities would be stalled midway."
