The price indices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained Thursday, as the gaining issues outnumbered the losing ones.
The trade turnover, in terms of both volume and value decreased on the day.
The DSE General Index rose by 14.32 points or 1.12 per cent to close at 1261.22 points from 1246.93 points of Wednesday, the previous trading day.
The DSE-20 Index moved up by 14.29 points or 1.02 per cent to end at 1557.02 points from 1540.78 points.
About 1.29 million shares and debentures worth Tk 101.63 million changed hands on the day against 1.80 million shares and deben-tures worth Tk 110.45 million of the previous trading day.
A number of 166 issues were traded on the day including 105 gainers, 33 losers and 28 remaining un-changed on the day.
The total market capitalisation increased to Tk 131.21 billion from Tk 129.62 billion of the previous trading day.
Square Textile was the top trade turn-over leader, in terms of value, on the day. Its 121,850 shares valued at Tk 6.85 million were traded. The price of the issue moved up by 0.71 per cent to conclude at Tk 56.00 and it fluctuated between Tk 56.50 and Tk 55.00 on the day.
Mutual Trust Bank was a major trade turnover leader, in terms of value, and a gainer on the day. Its 15,000 shares worth Tk 6.66 million were traded. The price of the issue gained by 1.62 per cent to close at Tk 372.50 and it varied between Tk 375.00 and Tk 350.00 on the day.
Monno Stapler was the top gaining issue on the day as its price moved up by 16.40 per cent to end at Tk 372.00. Its 60 shares valued at Tk 22,400 changed hands.
BD Dyeing was the top losing issue on the day as its price decreased by 8.69 per cent to close at Tk 42.00. Its 100 shares worth Tk 4,200.00 changed hands.
Jute Spinners was a major gainer on the day with its 115 shares valued at Tk 20,700.00 being transacted. The price of the issue increased by 7.08 per cent to end at Tk 244.25 on the day.
Padma Textile was a major trade turnover leader, in terms of volume, on the day as its 187,400 shares worth Tk 3.28 million changed hands. The price of the issue rose by 4.23 per cent to close at Tk 19.70 on the day.
Southeast Asia was a major perfoming issue on the day. Its price increased by 1.35 per cent to end at Tk 362.75. Its 11,800 shares valued at Tk 4.26 million changed hands.
