At least 30 persons including policemen were injured Saturday in a clash between two groups of workers of a garment factory at Dakkhin Khan in the city, reports BDNEWS.
The injured were identified as SI Amin and garment workers Momin, Belal, Alamgir, Shapan, Rasel, Halim, Monju and others.
Two groups of workers led by Halim and Inju of the Najiat Sweaters Ltd located at Chalaban village of Shah Kabir Majar Road under the Dhakhin Khan thana locked in a clash to establish supremacy at the factory.
Earlier, the workers loyal to the two groups stopped work from 8:00 am on the day. At one stage owner of the garment Shafiqul Islam, GM Tofazzal Hossain Pintu and AGM Rafiqul Islam Mintu requested the employees to start work but they ignored.
Police arrested four people including Momin and Biplob in connection with the incident.
A tense situation was prevailing in the area and six platoons of police were deployed to avoid further untoward incident.
