Probe body on JU incident formed
8/3/2006

The authorities of the Jahangirnagar University (JU) have formed a six-member probe committee to investigate Tuesday's clash on the campus. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Md Enamul Huq will head the probe body, reports BDNEWS.
The committee was formed at an emergency meeting that JU Vice-chancellor Khandakar Mustahidur Rahman held with the proctor and the assistant proctors of the university at the former's office to discuss the campus situation. It is learnt that the committee was asked to submit their report very soon.
It may be mentioned that following an internal feud, two groups of Jahangirnagar University unit of JCD, the student wing of the ruling BNP, led by the organisation's President Parvez Mallik and General Secretary Nazmul Ahsan Ovi, locked in a gun battle. The clash left a teacher and 15 others injured.
