Unscrupulous traders selling substandard Iftar items in B'baria
Our Correspondent
10/14/2005

BRAHMANBARIA, Oct 13: Some unscrupulous traders are selling sub-standard food items as Iftar at the restaurants from the very first day of Ramadan, sources said.
Sub-standard food items, not fit for public consumption, are put on display at different restaurants of the town. Most of the foodstuffs are made of low-quality ingredients.
Items like halim, piaju, beguni, potato chop, singara, nehari, bhoona khichuri, kebab, tikka, puri, nan, paratha and chhola-boot are prepared in unhygienic conditions and displayed at unclean spaces in the restaurants.
This appalling trend is badly affecting public health resulting in various ailments among unsuspecting consumers.
