SAARC Summit may push Nat'l Soccer League
10/29/2005

The second round of the Nitol Tata National Football League may be deferred due to the forthcoming 13th SAARC summit, reports BDNEWS.
A senior BFF official said, "We have an agreement with BTV that they will telecast the national league matches. But during the SAARC summit BTV will be engaged in transmitting the Summit. So it will not be possible for them to make all necessary arrangements within three days."
The SAARC summit is scheduled to take place November 12-13.
The second round of the national league is scheduled to begin on November 16 at the four different venues of the country.
The venues are Khulna, Rangpur, Chandpur and Cox'sbazar.
A total of ten teams are taking part in the second round. Among them six teams qualified from the six divisions.
Premier Division champions Brothers Union, federation cup champions Muktijddha Krira Sangsad and Mohammedan Sporting Club and Abahani Ltd got the first round bye.
The draw of the second round of the national league will be held on November 9.
All the participant teams are getting TK. 100,000 each as the participation money.
League Committee Secretary Manzur Hossain Malu told, "We didn't give the money to the participants yet. We will handover it on November 9."
