The Sri Lankans were just blown away. They met a worse fate than cavalry against machineguns. They couldn't blame anyone. The shot was not there for Jayasuriya to attempt. Attapattu should have understood that Tendulkar was not singing in Agarkar's voice. He was telling the bowler to send down a perfectly disguised slower one. Attapattu was outfoxed with a vengeance. As for Jayawardene his cute shot would have been pouched sooner or later. One can go on and on.
With this emphatic win the series in the Indian pocket. Now who will make the team, Kaif or Ganguly, that is the question.
Rumourmongers says, Dravid, Tendulkar and Chappell have sent down enough signals to make everyone understand that if Ganguly makes the team, India will suddenly find themselves at sea against not only Sri Lanka or the South Africans but against Kalabagan of Dhaka and they will of course blame it on bad luck not the presence of you-know-who.
But what happened to Sri Lanka? It seems, from the records, that these two have similar results when they play at home. Both win at home most of the time when they play each other. Just a few weeks ago, the Indians were hosts in Sri Lanka and they lost a majority of their matches against the hosts including the all important final. And now this.
But your heart goes out to Sachin Tendulkar. For too long has the man been away from the centre of the arena, batting, bowling or fielding. Or, advising younger players or just about anyone and when they heed the results are there for everyone to see.
