The cyclonic storm over southwest Bay and adjoining area moved west-southwestward Friday noon. The storm was centred about 1,665 kms southwest of Chittagong port, 1,600 kms southwest of Cox's Bazar port and 1,530 kms south-southwest of Mongla port at 12pm. It is likely to intensify further and move in a west/northwesterly direction, said a special weather bulletin of Met Office. Maximum sustained wind speed within 54 kms of the storm centre is about 65 kph rising to 85 kph in gusts or squalls. — UNB
