BARISAL, Dec 25 (BDNEWS): An alleged terrorist was killed early Sunday in an encounter between Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and the accomplices of the terrorist at Bakerganj in Barisal.
The terrorist who was identified as Nantu (30) hails from West Kalashkathi of Bakerganj. Two RAB members were also injured in the incident.
RAB Sources said Nantu was arrested from Khulna University campus Thursday night. Following his confession, he was taken to West Nalua village at Bakerganj upazila to recover arms.
When the RAB members reached there, the accomplices of Nantu opened fire on them forcing RAB members to retaliate likewise.
Terrorist Nantu was killed on the spot while RAB sergeant Mustafa and constable Harun were injured during the encounter.
RAB recovered a rifle, a pipe gun, 4 round of bullets and a sharp weapon from the spot.
There were 13 cases, including three murders, against Nantu.
