EU to give Tk 1.58b for food security, rural employment

          The European Union (EU) is to provide Tk 1.58 billion or 20 million euro under a treaty signed in the city Wednesday for financing the food security programme 2004 and creating employment opportunities in rural areas. According to an official handout, Economic Relations Division
Secretary Mohammad Ismail Zabiullah and Director of the Europe Aid Cooperation Office Erich W Muller signed the agreement to support the poverty eradication campaign and engage women in the development process. —BSS
