Output hike off agenda at OPEC meet: Iran
12/5/2005

TEHRAN, Dec 4 (AFP): Iran's caretaker oil minister said Saturday an output hike was out of the question at the OPEC cartel's next meeting on December 12 in Kuwait.
"I do not think the issue of an output increase will be brought up in the meeting at all," said Kazem Vaziri-Hamaneh, who is acting as oil minister after President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's three previous nominees for the post were vetoed by parliament.
In comments broadcast on state televsion, he added: "We are not taking a certain stance for now."
Iran's envoy to the cartel, Hossien Kazempour Ardebili, said last month there was no need for OPEC to change its output quota of 28 million barrels per day (bpd).
