Marginal fall in share prices

          The country's two bourses witnessed Saturday a marginal fall in share prices due to the selling pressure at the first session of the week.
According to available statistics, share prices also fell slightly in the previous session due to the similar reasons.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) benchmark index dipped 12.53 points or 0.68 per cent to close at 1840.42 while the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) benchmark index lost 12.31 points or 0.36 per cent to close at 3366.62.
The DSE-20 blue-chip index fell 16.67 points or about 0.82 per cent to close at 2037.33, while the CSE-30 blue-chip index dipped 12.82 points or about 0.40 per cent to close at 3205.71.
In DSE, Beximco Pharmaceuticals became the topmost gainer on the day's trading followed by Shinepukur Ceramics, Padma Textile, Beximco and Square Textiles.
Miracle Industries was the top losers on the day followed by Beximco Denims, Keya Detergent, Beximco Knitting and BD Welding.
Of the total 177 issues traded in the DSE, 67 gained, 90 declined and 20 remained unchanged, while in the CSE, out of 61 issues traded, 18 gained, 37 declined and six remained unchanged.
Total turnover at the DSE stood at Tk 210.22 million in the day's trading, when 3645571 shares and debentures changed hands through 9804 trades.
Meanwhile, the CSE's total turnover stood at Tk 63.06 million while 1248016 shares and debentures changed hands through 2923 transactions.
