Local co to invest $4.0m in Ctg EPZ

          The Merim Company Limited will invest $ 4.0 million to set up a high-fashion clothing and linkage industry in the Chittagong Export Processing Zone (EPZ), said a press release.
The Bangladeshi owned company will manufacture annually 0.15 million dozens of garments and linkage items including men's and ladies' blazer, suit, pant, shirt, skirt, dress and embroidery etc.
The local company will create employment opportunity for 1,135 Bangladeshi and two foreign nationals.
In this connection, an accord was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and the Merim Company Limited in the city Saturday.
BEPZA Member (investment promotion) Md Shahjahan and Merim Company Limited Managing Director Sayedul Islam signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
BEPZA Executive Chairman Md Zakir Hossain, Member (finance) Masud Ahmed, Member (engineering) Abu Reza Khan, Secretary S Mahmood Yunus and General Manager (investment promotion) AZM Azizur Rahman were also present.
