The sixth annual general meeting (AGM) of Pashchimanchal Gas Company Limited (PGCL), a company of Petrobangla, was held on March 9, 2006 in the city with chairman of its Board of Directors Imdadul Huq in the chair. Selling 617 million cubic metres of gas the PGCL earned revenue worth Tk 1.65 billion in 2004-05 with income before tax at about Tk 94 million during the period, which was 22 per cent higher than that of the corresponding period, said a press release. During 2004-05 Tk 110 million was deposited into the public exchequer as dividend and income tax. The Western Gas Project was implemented at a cost lower by Tk 135 million than the estimated expenditure and gas supply to Bogra started before six moths of the scheduled time. A total of 672-kilometre pipeline in the company's adjacent area had been installed within which 440-kilometre gas distribution pipeline was constructed in 2004-05. Among others, Petrobangla Chairman Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, company shareholders and directors were present at the AGM.
