DCCI Director KMH Shahidul Haque underscored the need of proper mechanism for financial management in a free market economy. He said finance is the fuel of every business machine, adding that the main issues are to face the global competition and the ultimate objective is to have cost effectiveness. He mentioned, India is prudently looking after its finance and that is why it is developing. Bangladesh is losing its market to China due to price and it is necessary to take action to compete with others both internally and externally, he observed. For fighting with the competitors, financial management is very important not only to minimise cost but also to run a company successfully, he added. DBI Acting Secretary and Executive Director Hossain Ali briefed the participants about the DCCI Business Institute (DBI) and its Knowledge Centre's activities. Deputy Secretary (Training) Jawadur Rahman Choudhury facilitated the meeting. The course is aimed at familiarising the participants with the topics like introduction to financial management, concept of costing, driving financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, report and interpretation and profit planning.
