Demonstrate on own premises
BB employees demand continuation of time scale
FE Report
3/21/2006

Officers and employees of the Bangladesh Bank (BB) demonstrated Monday on the premises of the central bank demanding continuation of their time scale.
The demonstration is prohibited in the central bank, a key point installation (KPI). It disrupted activities for more than half an hour.
Later, the leaders of the six associations of officers and employees met with Executive Director of the BB Nazmul Hasan and placed their demand.
They said that any move to re-fix the existing time scale would not be accepted and the central bank authority would be responsible for any consequence.
The senior officials of the BB, however, said that they were yet to receive any official order regarding re-fixation of the time scale as advised by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Accounts recently.
'We are hopeful that the issue will be settled immediately,' said a BB senior official told FE Monday.
He also said that gross salaries of some promoted junior level officials and employees will be reduced if the time scale is re-fixed.
