SEOUL, Mar 20 (AFP): Communist North Korea on Monday marked the third anniversary of the US-led invasion of Iraq by branding the United States a "war maniac" and killer of countless civilians. "The US imperialists provoked wars in ... Afghanistan and Iraq in the 1990s and the new century, mercilessly destroying peaceful towns and villages and civilian establishments and cruelly killing countless innocent people," said Rodong Sinmun, the communist party newspaper that is the North's official mouthpiece. "This clearly proves that the US is a war maniac, the ringleader of evils and the worst human rights abuser." Rodong, in a piece carried by the Korean Central News Agency monitored here, warned that North Korea could be on the list of US targets. In his 2002 State of the Union address, President George W. Bush grouped North Korea, Iran and pre-war Iraq togather as an "axis of evil" who were seeking weapons of mass destruction.
