ASA disburses Tk 452.5m loans in B'baria

          BRAHMANBARIA, Aug 16: ASA, a non-government organisation, disbursed Tk 452.50 million (45.25 crore) loans among 97246 borrowers in the district through its 48 branch offices during the first six months of this year.
Before granting loans, the NGO initially forms group and then launches collection centres, according to sources.
Its also provides loans to male members.
The organisation has provisions for agricultural loan, interest-free rehabilitation loan, BDS or complementary loan, health insurance without premium, flexible loan for the ultra-poor, savings withdrawal facility and tailor-made loan repayment option in accordance with the borrowers income, the sources added.
