Designing a bedroom
FE Report
8/16/2006

If you want to sleep under a starlit sky, you don't need to go to the terrace. Just call an interior designer. He will transform your ceiling into a galactic illusion.
Imaginative glow-in-the-dark ceiling is an affordable home art installation that brings the mystery, majesty and magic of the cosmos into our lives. It is perfect for bedrooms of children or those young at heart. During daytime it is invisible and at nights it is incredible.
You can have the Northern sky or the Milky Way or some planet on yourceiling to take you through a journey across the Universe. The night glow lasts for six to eight hours, provided there has been sufficient sunlight or artificial light prior to dusk.
A 10 sq ft room will take about two hours, but the effect remains for almost 20 years. The installation of a nightsky ceiling involves little mess or fuss.
The ceilings are authentic and have a realistic 3-D effect, with no interference to the existing décor. The stone powder comes in six colours - blue, sky-blue, green, violet, red and yellow. The art could be used on walls too and they are washable.
For children its like passion after visiting Bhashani Novo Planetarium in the city. Dazzled by the star-spangled spectacle, many children want the ceiling in their homes could be lit up like the night sky. The trend among people is to surprise their friends by getting the nightsky ceiling. You can have the Northern sky or the Milky Way or some planet on your ceiling.
