Former South Africa coach Graham Ford has been named as Kent's new director of cricket on a two-year deal. Ford, 44, coached the South African national side from 1999 to 2002, winning nine out of 11 series. "There is a great deal of coaching and playing talent within the club," said Ford in a club statement. Ford will oversee the work of the existing coaching team of Simon Willis, Chris Stone and Paul Farbrace. Kent have not had a director of cricket since Australian Ian Brayshaw left following the 2003 season. — BBC
