Special bus, launch services for Eid passengers from today
1/6/2006

The state-run BRTC will introduce special bus service on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha from today (Friday), report agencies.
BRTC senior officials at a two-day meeting decided to launch the special bus service to facilitate the journey of homebound Eid passengers and the Ijtema devotees.
The two-day meeting began Wednesday. BRTC Chairman Advocate Taimur Alam Khandaker presided over Thursday's meeting.
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, some 453 special buses will ply 120 routes and the service will continue 10 days after the Eid.
The meeting decided that the number of buses would be increased as per demand of the passengers and the passengers would not be charged more than the fares fixed officially.
A control room will be opened at the BRTC's Motijheel depot for smooth operation of the service. Passengers can lodge any complainant with the control room over phone (9333803).
For Biswa Ijtema, some 366 buses will ply from various parts of Dhaka,
Narayanganj, Meghnaghat, Narsingdi, Bhairob, Joydevpur, Tangail and Mymensingh up to Ijtema venue from Jan 20 and it will continue until Jan 31.
