Aktel hopes to attract 3.0m subscribers by 2005

          Managing Director of Aktel Ahmed Bin Ismail reiterated Tuesday the need for reviewing the existing rate of tax on subscriber identification module (SIM) to make the task of increasing teledensity in the country smoother.
Speaking at an Iftar party arranged for the media people at a city hotel, Ahmed expressed the hope that the number of subscribers of the Aktel, which is committed to providing best possible services, would reach 3.0 million by the end of 2005.
" With dynamic management, quality service, upgraded infrastructure and skilled and well-trained human resources, my vision is make the Aktel the number one cell phone company in Bangladesh", he said.
The Aktel MD said with the commissioning of the state-of-the-art technology, the Aktel will offer innovative products and "value for money' service in near future.
Chief operating Officer of Aktel Vijay Watson was present at the Iftar party which was also addressed by Head of Corporate Affairs Javed Tariq.
